AW Planet – Introduction
Sep 21st
So here it is, the first ‘real’ MMORPG for Android-powered phones: AW Planet. Developed by what seems to be a Russian company, this 3d fantasy/science fiction MMORPG is available for desktop PCs and Android phones such as the G1 and G2 (did I mention I have a G2 now?). It looks a lot (and I mean very much a lot) like the browser-game RuneScape and from my few minutes in the game I can confirm that it even plays like it.
Continue reading to see a screenshot. Whatever you think, this game runs on a mobile phone in hardware graphics mode at about 30 to 40 FPS. Nothing to laugh about if you ask me – a good sign of things to come.
Champions Online – Hard-to-find Missions
Sep 21st
Zakuno2 has posted a very helpful thread on the official CO forums with some of the harder-to-find missions that might help people over the ‘content gap’ (which I have no problem with btw – level 25 with a boatload of missions still available).
I hope the poster does not mind me adding their tips to this site:
Fauna Sphere – Introduction
Sep 21st
While not really non-fantasy, this new MMO seems to set itself apart from the rest of the flock with some refreshing and innovative ideas. Enough to give it a little introduction on my site. If you want to know more, click on the category image! Snippet from the website:
Adventure awaits in a mysterious world, overrun with pollution. Charming creatures known as Fauna survive. You can help them build a new, clean world.
Adopt Fauna and attend to their needs. Build a customized space called a Faunasphere to keep them happy and comfy. Then, breed your Fauna to customize them too.
All Points Bulletin – Action Trailer
Sep 19th
If you thought that the Global Agenda trailer was good, then you have to watch this action-packed trailer of All Points Bulletin. After watching this, I have to say that APB is the game that I am looking forward to the most. Comparing this trailer to the action in CrimeCraft I have to say that Vogster can start packing their bags already, because APB looks like it will run circles around their rather simple MMOTPS. The trailer features combat, some crazy car chases and dancing!
Global Agenda Video from PAX
Sep 19th
Gametrailers.com has this nice video of Global Agenda which shows in-game footage and the producer’s explanation of what the game is like. At the end of the video he states that development will be done by the end of this year and that the second closed beta phase will start this fall. You can watch the video over at Gametrailers.com.
